The two twats have been reunited in the holy city of Amritsar! After a pretty hungover 9 hour flight (Thanks ORA leaving drinks), I finally made it to Amritsar in the late morning of Monday 30th. John's done some great work re:tuk tuk and we've got "Vijay Autos" on the case of prepping some vehicles for some viewings this afternoon. This HOPEFULLY means that we will be the proud owners of a tuk tuk by the evening. Although we can only get an Amritsar permit here, he claims we can 'play dumb' and 'pay an on the spot fine of a few rupees (aka bribe) and it'll all work itself out.
Amritsar itself is a typical Indian large city - noisy, full of life, busy. The star attraction is the beautiful golden temple, the Mecca equivalent to a Sikh. We're off there for dinner tonight where they feed over 10,000 people a day for free (Voluntary donation)!
Shall hopefully report back this evening with news of tuk tuk buying and hopefully pictures!
